ART EXPLORATION #1 : Let's talk a little about the beauty of Creativity :)

Welcome.
I'd like to welcome you all to the c r e a t i v i t y  portfolio of Elizabeth Ing on the blog spot! I'm a second year student, studying in the field of Early Childhood Education at Ryerson University. I am currently enrolled in a Creative Arts class, where I will have chance to reflect on some my personal experiences and encounters during my early years that has shaped the development of my creative side today. Throughout this blog, I will be learning more about arts and creative development in young children and the impacts of creativity in their education. Feel free to follow me on this blog as I share more about my experiences and discover and learn about how my sense of creativity can create learning opportunities to young children for exciting discoveries, exploration of their imagination and development of creativity in their unique minds.

My Inspirations.

See Creativity through my eyes.
I believe that every individual is unique in their own way and there are no boundaries to the possibilities of their imagination.  Creativity is all about about letting your ideas run wild and piecing these thoughts of your own into a work of art. Creativity is all about exploring your imagination. When we take a step back and look at some of our everyday encounters in life, we realize that we are open to many opportunities to be creative and we are revealing our creativity in many aspects of our lives.

Creativity at work. Everyday Creativity.

We see everyday creativity through food preparation where we can toss a variety of ingredients together and form a refreshing new dish with a combination of those single ingredients. Creativity is shown through performance arts where dancers and singers reveal their talent through the compose of dance moves to form choreography. We listen to music and hear different versions of music like mix tapes, in which DJs are expressing creativity with their innovative work of creating remixes and bringing combinations of single songs together.

In the field of Early childhood education, educators often express their creativity through designing the classroom environment and planning of activities for children's learning. I envision myself as an educator who would place great emphasis on displaying children's art work within the classroom and creating great opportunities for children to explore and gain interest in visual arts.

A glimpse of Creativity in my early years
As as child,  I always found so much flattery in exploring the art materials in the classroom. I loved the feeling of having a fresh sheet of paper in front of me and progressively transforming the blank page to a piece of artwork of my own. I remember every opportunity I had to explore in the classroom, I would find myself indulging in the rich art materials because those were my tools to new and exciting creations.

To this day, I still continue to express myself through drawing, sketching, painting and different forms of creating art. I simply find so much flattery in being able to bring out my ideas to the page because every piece of artwork is an expression of my thoughts and a story that I am telling, not with words but with a picture from my imagination.
